Hooked On Classics

The likes of Kate Moss and Sienna Miller have made it almost mandatory for any self-respecting fashionista to have a few "heirloom" pieces hanging in their closets to mix and match with current styles. But where vintage really wins out is in the ethical and affordability stakes, reducing your carbon footprint and giving you more quality for your dollar-think of it as affordable bespoke. This stunning piece arrived in store yesterday. It’s a mint condition 60’s pleated cotton summer dress by the label Ecstasy.
Golden rule of vintage- you must fall in love with the piece, choose well and everyone will ask where it came from. Not only that, you might unearth a piece that will retain, and possibly increase, in value over the years. Best of all, vintage shopping is full of surprises- it’s sartorial potluck and a good way to discover fashion’s history.
