Blogger Extraordinaire

It’s not often a blogger gets the chance to blog about another blogger- Crossblogging maybe? Melanie McDowall is the winner of the Castletown Connexion fashion blog competition and affectionately known by her friends as the fabulous fashion guru. Melanie’s launch into the blogging world was only a recent introduction, with encouragement from her girlfriends’ she didn’t hesitate utilising her expertise and quickly compiled the essential blog profile. Not wasting any time Melanie got down to the business of blogging with one of her first posts dicussing Pastels, which happened to be influenced by a previous Petticoat Lane post critiquing Melanie’s gorgeous winter style.
Petticoat Lane first had the pleasure of meeting Miss McDowall through judging the hectic catwalk at a local modelling competition, Fashion Bash. Winning her fashion section it was clear even then Melanie had a sharp sartorial eye for fashion. Describing her style as “Modern and chic” Melanie gains her inspiration from Vogue, Runway and Grazia magazines explaining “I don’t have a particular person who I emulate, I  like to mix a variety of styles and make them my own” adding "I do love Blake Lively’s approach though, it’s always classy”.
Melanie now has her own dedicated page which also consists of video blogging. She will also make the cover of Castletowns in house magazine Style your Life next month which will contain her very own editorial section.
Petticoat Lane blogged Melanies beautiful style. Check out Melanie's blog http://www.facebook.com/permalink.php?story_fbid=10150883209490234&id=574110233&ref=notif&notif_t=feed_comment#!/CastletownConnexion

Melanies favourite colour is purple. She loves the edge the black vest gives the gathered block colour cocktail dress with detailed fringing to the back.

Vintage! this 1970's zesty summer dress was found in a local op shop. Just a little imagination and tweaking Melanie created a stunning one of a kind dress.

This amazing dress is one of Melanies favourites. The colour pops! This hot little number was found online at ASOS. The cape and flower details makes this a show stopper.

Clean crisp white T is casual fun with a sequin detail collar which is influenced from the crochet styles of the 1800's.

Red Alert -Kate Moss

Kate Moss celebrates 10 years at Rimmel London and the launch of her own London Lipstick collection by Kate Moss. The party was star-studded of course at the Battersea Power Station on the eve of London Fashion Week.

Kate arrived in style by chopper, an echo of the four minute advertisement she filmed to accompany the collection, where Kate jams with The Vaccines before stripping off, flinging on a red dress and fleeing in a helicopter.

Talking about her new lipstick collection Kate says: My inspiration for this range was really to create a range of easy to wear, classic shades that I Have always worn and loved’

Grey never looked so good, monochromatic with bright red lips- gorgeous!

Lucy Tuttiett's VIP Consortium Party

The first time I heard Lucy Tuttiett’s name was Michelle Mc Cracken’s funny story discovering Lucy at Bunning’s Warehouse, with her husband Jarrod asking “is that girl standing on a crate?”.  So when I was asked to help judge Best Model Australia at Consortium Flinders Street I was super keen to see Miss Tuttiett strut her stuff.
The 19 year old glamazon stands at an impressive 183cm tall and certainly didn’t disappoint winning the tough local competition and then Australian catwalk title on the Gold Coast. Lucy will now head to Istanbul Turkey December 2012 to compete at the world finals.
So to celebrate, Consortium put on a fabulous VIP “Congratulations” party Saturday night fit for a super model. Giving friends and fans a chance to express their best wishes. What a night!
Good luck Lucy x
